Doctor Bob Parsons

Recently I have been watching Dr Bob videos as they are well made, entertaining and informative.  Dr Bob is the  self made millionaire owner of GoDaddy.com so he can speak with authority on business success.  He is very down to earth and possibly not to everyone's taste.  As they say you cannot please everyone.  But if you would like to sample one of his videos here is one he made earlier:-

Is there a Magic Button?

According to some of the internet marketing gurus all you need to do to make money on the internet is a copy of their latest system. Some of these gurus often appear to imply that your involvement in the process is minimal and that you can make money from internet marketing while you sleep. More like you are invited to sleep walk into yet another money making scheme for the gurus but not for the those that try to buy into the dream. Perhaps we all yearn for the ability to find a magic button which when placed on our website will generate endless streams of cash into our bank account. The reality is that the only way you can ever hope of making money on the internet is by doing a lot of hard work. If you have bought a marketing plan from a reliable source then you should just stick with it. According to statistics more than 90% of would be internet marketers never make past a few sales before they give up. Rome was not built in a day and what you have to realise is that will only get out what you put in. So if you thought that internet marketing consisted of choosing a few affiliate offerings for a website you may be in for a lot of disappointment. Especially if the website consists mainly of copied information from the websites you are running affiliate programs for as these will not rank anywhere with the search engines - period. There are quite a few good programs that will guide you in a sensible and methodical way to making a reliable income on line. The main thing to remember is that any program that promises instant mega riches has to be suspect. As they say if it was easy everyone would be doing it. So yet again you have to find a niche which is of interest to you. You need to research that niche until you are knowledgeable in it. Then you have to promote a product which you feel meets the needs of people in that niche. If you do this and follow all the usual SEO requirements you should find yourself with a profitable result.

The importance of the List

Ask anyone who has been successful at internet marketing and they will all say the power is in the list. This is not any old list but a specific list of people who have expressed enough interest in your area of expertise to allow themselves to be added to your list of subscribers.

So why is this list so important. Well to start with this list will represent interested people in a particular subject otherwise they would not have handed over their email information. Every internet marketer is searching for prospects and people who show an interest in what the internet marketer is promoting, These are your potential buyers. Buyers equals profit and ultimately without any reward for your efforts the whole activity of promotion on the internet becomes pointless.

It is possible and viable to have a successful internet marketing business without list building. However, if you realize that in order to make that first sale your prospect is likely to have had a least four to five contacts with your website you can see how much work is involved without a list.

Unfortunately, most people when surfing for information quickly forget about the brief visit they have made to your website. They may think it worthy of a book mark and if so you often find yourself buried under lots of other bookmarks. The easy answer to these problems, is in most gurus’ opinion, is to build a relationship via email.

After all, look at how difficult it is to build up a volume of visitors to your website. Search engine optimization, pay per click, advertising on relevant websites and all the other plethora of methods have gotten this potential buyer to your website. If they are not given some incentive to let you have a closer relationship after this one visit then you need to have their email details to form one.

Some internet marketers are so convinced of the importance of the list that they will not allow entry to their main website without obtaining an email address first. Of course, they always offer a good incentive for the information in the form of a relevant e-book, video or software to sweeten the request for the email address. These internet marketers have come to the conclusion that if someone is not prepared to provide an email address for free relevant information to their search then they are unlikely at a later stage to part with their credit card details. Thus the act of obtaining an email address acts as a first filter weeding out those who would probably never buy anything on offer.

Some suggest that free mini-series of instruction is a viable way to start the relationship and obviously this does have the benefit of putting the prospective client into an anticipatory frame of mind. Instead of being irritated by a daily succession of emails from the internet marketer the prospect is looking forward to the communications. That is assuming that the information is relevant and valuable to the prospect.

So email marketing is all about relationship building and gradually moving the prospect toward the process of actually buying something. Assuming you have built a list of more than a hundred prospects you would not feasibly expect to be able to manage a schedule of sending out emails on a daily or weekly basis to your list. For the first problem would be one of logistics. If prospect A signs up on Monday they receive the first email on Monday and subsequent emails on following Mondays if on a weekly schedule. Prospect B to D sign up on Tuesday and prospects F to H sign up on Wednesday. If you tried to run your campaign on a manual basis it would eventually become totally unmanageable.

Fortunately there is an answer in the form of a software solution called an auto responder. With such a device you can set up email campaigns to suit different prospects. Once someone initially joins the list they would go on to a specific campaign. If during the course of this campaign they decide to buy you will then switch them to a different campaign. Many internet marketers start by offering a free course followed by a introductory course with a fairly low entry price. This can then be followed up with a further campaign which offers the prospect a more advanced course and a much high price.

By building a relationship with the list it is possible to sell much more expensive items because you are trusted. Like most things in life people buy from people they know and trust. That is why big companies are so protective of their branding. We tend to buy from trusted sources and from recommendation and this is why list building is considered a most important part of the internet marketer's arsenal.

20 Minute PayDay System

Two years ago Russell launched the $100,000,000 challenge on which this new 20 Minute PayDay course is based.  The winners of the challenge were a young couple called Xann and Jen who followed the advice given over the 17 hours of tutorials to the letter.  They had a most unlikely winning formula for a niche product:  how to tie bows!  They started their website two months after starting the $100,000,000 challenge and made sales of $3,000 to $4,000 a month by only working 20 minutes per day on the program.

As well as the complete program of 17 hours training you also receive two software bonuses.  The first is 20 Minute Payday Niche Research software which will let you find out what are the hottest markets online.

With 20 Minute Payday Niche Research you will be able to find out how many are searching for a
particular topic each month, if they have funds and how much they are likely to spend on your products.  (This is the same system Xann and Jen used to find their niche which would ultimately pay them in excess of $10,000 per month.

The second bonus software is Fly Catcher Generator software which will help you find hot markets and will let you know precisely what they are looking to buy!  Xann and Jen found out what their market wanted to buy and they just made it and gave them it -  that is the simple recipe for success.  For more information on the 20 Minute PayDay course please click here.

Starting out in internet marketing

If you are interested in internet marketing as a part or full time occupation you will inevitably find yourself wondering about how to actually take that first step.  There are many ways of succeeding in the world of internet marketing and a lot depends on whether you wish to devote more time than money to the process.  If you have more time available than money then you may wish to follow an organic search optimization route to monetizing your efforts.  I have written an ezine article on how to plan for an initial income of $1,000 a month.  Of course this is a completely arbitrary figure as everything depends on so many factors.  How many hours are you prepared to devote to the task, what subjects interest you and could you turn such interest into a profitable internet business.  Whatever your goals I wish you success on your journey and I hope that is both profitable and full filling!

GPS For Golfers

No  matter what stage you are at in your golf game there is always something new on the horizon which can help improve your score.  For some it could be a really comfortable pair of golf shoes, others may find that a new putter or driver revitalizes their game.  Now Garmin have come up with another way to enhance your playing with a GPS for golfers.  Most of us are by now dependent on GPS systems to guide us in our cars from A to B so it should not be surprising if many golfers find GPS an indespensible element of their golf game.  The Garmin Approach G5 GPS-Enabled Golf Handheld is the latest and most sophisticated golfing aid you could wish for.
The G5 is capable of guiding you round your local course as well as thousands of different golf courses all over the country, keeping you informed about how far you have hit the ball and of course how far you have to hit the next shot to reach the green.

If you would like to know more about the Garmin Approach G5 then you can find further information by clicking here.

Internet marketing without a website

If you are intimidated by the thought of creating a website, setting up a domain name, tackling HTML and all that stuff you might want to consider some of the recent developments in Web 2.0 technology.  There are a number of websites like Squidoo which are less intimidating to newbies to the internet.

Jennifer Ledbetter, also known as Pot Pie Girl,  went from $0 to $156,000  within three years activity on the internet.  She attributes her success to Squidoo because initially she didn't have to invest anything except her time in creating her marketing campaigns through lenses.   Seth Godwin, who set up Squidoo, calls web pages you create on Squidoo lenses because they hone in on a particular subject.  This is ideal for internet marketing as you are more likely to succeed if you promote a niche rather than a general product area.  For example pets is a general category and dogs are general niche within the pets category.  However dogs barking is a specific and specialist niche and would make a good subject for promoting an affiliate program through a Squidoo lens.

Jennifer has created an easy to read e-book about creating lenses on Squidoo based on her own successful experiences on the site.  She has also created the One Week Marketing course which explains all the steps she has taken to make a $100,000+ annual income working from home on the internet.

If you are completely new to the concept of internet marketing the next step is to down load the Squidoo guide by clicking here.  Alternatively, if you would like to have more information on the One Week Marketing  course please click here.

How important is time to you?

Managing time is a problem for most of us.  We have all heard the phrase "time and tide waits for no man."  How true that is.  If we are doing something we enjoy - like browsing the net then time can fly by.  If we are waiting for someone to turn up and they are late we can find time dragging as we continuously look at our watch as we wait for them.

Many years ago I was lucky enough to be sent on a time management course by the company I was then working for.  Two elements of that course have remained valid to me. Firstly that time management is very important if we are going to make best use of our time.  Secondly that we should  be bold and do things that we have always  thought would be of interest but never got round to.  In my case this resulted in obtaining  a degree in IT through the Open University, even though I had left school at 15 without any qualifications.

Any personal or professional ambition could be achieved according to the course instructor if  wecould break the task down in manageable sections.  He used the example of elephant burgers: if you eat a small portion of the elephant each day then eventually you would finish it!  Relating that to my degree course I had to persevere through six years of study to achieve my goal.  I would also admit that at the end of each year's study I felt certain I would not carry on the next.  Somehow I managed it and made it to the final year.

Looking for ways to manage time, especially if you are trying to study or complete tasks in an orderly fashion can be difficult as we all face many interruptions during the normal working day.  I have recently read an interesting book called the "The Pomodoro Technique" by Francesco Cirillo.  This book tries to address the problems of task management by breaking the day up into seven Pomodoros.  What is a Pomodoro? Well time intervals were originally measured by Francesco with a wind up egg timer that looked like a tomato.  This device was called a Pomodoro which I believe  is tomato in Italian.  The importance of this device is that it makes a ticking sound throughout your 25 minute session and also informs you when the session has ended.  Each Pomodoro has to be completed without any interruptions  otherwise it does not count.  The author recommends four Pomodoros in the morning and three in the afternoon.  Between each Pomodoro you allow yourself a complete break for 5 to 15 minutes.  Then at the end of the fourth Pomodoro you can have up to an hour break.  The concept is that by planning your work in 25 minute sections you will be more focused on your task and achieve more.  Some might say that the whole process is very prescriptive but it is one method of ordering your work and evaluating whether you are achieving your goals.

If you would like to read the book you can obtain a copy from Amazon or if you cannot wait for it to be posted you can down load a copy here.   The down load version is free so that is also an added bonus.

The first week as an Internet Marketer

Could your first week at creating an on-line presence actually result in some much needed revenue? After all the main reason for promoting affiliate products is to make sales. If you don't make any sales in your first week there is no need to feel despondent. As they say, Rome wasn't built in a day. Even many successful Internet Gurus had difficulty in the early stages. Some didn't have a guide to help them get started quickly and others felt they lacked a clearly laid out route to success.

Jennifer Ledbetter, a successful internet marketing guru and stay at home mom, started out on her internet marketing journey just over three years ago and credits much of her success to the Squidoo website. There are other websites out there like the Hub that offer a free web presence, however Squidoo has developed a big following because of its easy user interface and how it links to Amazon and other websites. The fact that Google also likes it helps a lot. After all no one will be able to find your Squidoo lens, that's Squidoo for a web page, unless Google is aware of it.

When you start creating your lens just choose a topic which interests you. If say you are a tennis fan who loves cooking and learning to speak Italian then right away you have at least three subjects to inspire you to great lens creation. Remember if you have a passion for something it will show up in your lens.

You can create your first lens with the help of Jennifer's new Guide for Newbies. You can get a copy here which will show you how to create your first lens. It's really easy to do.

Where to start your Internet Marketing journey?

Free Squidoo for Newbies Guide
The biggest problem you will face in starting up an internet presence is actually deciding on a good course of action.

If you know little or nothing about how the internet gurus manage to rake in millions each year it is tempting to buy one of the numerous offerings which promise instant results and a easy route to $1000's landing in your bank account each day.

For most of us mere mortals the thought of an extra $500 - $1000 a month would be more realistic and achievable. So you have to beware of snake oil salesman! If something appears to be to good to be true then it probably is!

If you want to dip your toe in the water regarding a potential income stream from the internet you should have a look a free e-book from Jennifer Ledbetter. She is also known as PotPie Girl and is very open about how she started her on-line business.

She is also a big fan of Squidoo because you can create a web presence there without having to pay anything. This was a win win situation for Jennifer and Squidoo as both profit from each other. Jennifer creates web pages on Squidoo which offer all sorts of services and Squidoo derives a revenue from related advertising streams. Jennifer only started out in 2007 and already is making in excess of $100,000 a year from internet marketing.

As I mentioned she has created a really easy to follow e-book on creating your own personal Squidoo internet business - it is called "Squidoo Lens Creation for Newbies". By the way a lens is just Squidoo for a web page!

If you are serious about starting an on-line business download a copy Squidoo Guide for Newbies here
